All aboard! Don your dandiest apparel and join us for a day of historic proportions! This Victorian Steampunk Tea Party is fun for all ages!

“Lace & Locomotives”

We are celebrating our past while planning for the future, and partying for a purpose.

Your ticket to our Victorian Steampunk themed tea party at the Murrieta Community Center includes the following perks!

  • Enjoy a leisurely arrival during the one-hour reception from 11 am to 12 pm with live harp music as you promenade around the grounds in your Victorian Steampunk inspired fashion, pose for our free photo booth, play games, learn about local railroad history, and shop our silent auction items from our community of artists and local merchants.
  • Arrive by 12 o’clock noon when our formal tea service begins, served in an assortment of Grandma’s fanciest teacups. Kick things up a gear with upbeat music from our favorite local piano band.
  • Each table of eight will have their very own tower of handcrafted sandwiches, authentic scones, and more treats from local food artisans to delight your palette and entertain your tastebuds.

Ticket sales from our tea party fundraiser will directly support our effort to bring a train to downtown Murrieta, which will enable us to serve the community on an even more epic scale – yes, we are going to operate our nonprofit cultural arts center from inside a REAL TRAIN…in downtown Murrieta! Additionally, we will be donating a portion of the ticket sales to our local Murrieta Valley Historical Society for their continued efforts running the Murrieta Museum and to support their historical plaque marker project.

With grant support from the incredible Let’s Choose Love organization, and working with our local Murrieta Valley Historical Society, we aim to make this event truly historic! The Murrieta Arts Council is sponsoring our live entertainment for the day from local musicians Kylene Grace and our feature band Leather & Boogie. We will feature scenes and information about our city’s old Murrieta Train Depot and railroad through old town. The local Murrieta Museum will be open to our guests to explore, and sits adjacent to the Community Center where this family friendly event will be held.

Save the date for Saturday, August 5, 2023 and join us in this unique opportunity to support the Murrieta Train Project and our new nonprofit cultural arts center in historic downtown Murrieta.

Together we are making history and art come to life.

More about the Murrieta Train Project

This initiative aims to serve the community of Murrieta, California by working with local organizations to relocate a train to our historic downtown.

Establishing itself as Murrieta’s first cultural arts center, we plan to use the train to serve as our public center. The ideal location is at the former site of Murrieta’s old depot, on the site of the city-planned Pioneer Park.

Working with the city and our local railway museum, we hope to establish a shared vision and plan of how to bring this dream to life to benefit our community. We are currently seeking funds to help cover the cost of relocating a train car to Murrieta, and related expenses including refurbishment.

Thanks for supporting the #MurrietaTrainProject!
